Kimetsu no Yaiba ends, but continuations are coming

THIS WEEK WILL FEATURE THE END OF THE DEMON SLAYER MANGA: KIMETSU NO YAIBA. BUT THAT DOES NOT IMPLY THAT WE WILL SEE THE END OF THIS SERIES

It could be thought that with the end of the Demon Slayer manga: Kimetsu no Yaiba would be the end of the franchise. Actually, it is not.

While on the one hand there is his first film that opens in October, and the always possible second season, the adventures of Tanjirou and the company will continue in print.

This week it was announced that a couple of new novels are on the way, and will be released later this year.

TANJIROU AND NEZUKO'S STORY TOLD DIFFERENTLY

The first is Kimetsu no Yaiba: Tanjirou to Nezuko, Unmei no Hajimari-hen. As the name implies, it is an adaptation of the original Koyoharu Gotōge manga. This will follow the initial story of both the protagonist and his sister. It is a new way to present it to the audience.

The adaptation, as well as the illustrations, are made by Gotōge herself. However, she is not alone in developing that work. It has the support of another mangaka.

This is Shuka Matsuda, who also worked on the novels of The Seven Deadly Sins. This first novel will be released on June 26 in Japan. As for the second, it is planned to go on sale on July 17.

Perhaps if they succeed - which is likely - the entire manga ends up adapting in that way. For some readers, it might be more entertaining to enjoy the story of the series in this way.

KIMETSU NO YAIBA HAS MORE HISTORY OUTSIDE OF MANGA

This is not the first time that the series has been adapted in the form of novels. There are two previews that reveal more details of some of the characters. One of them is Kimetsu no Yaiba Shiawase no Hana, published in February 2019.

This one focuses on the story of Tanjirou and Zenitsu, and gives Aoi and Kanao a little background. It is a creation of Koyoharu Gotōge alongside Aya Yajima. The second is called Kimetsu no Yaiba Katahane no Chō.

In this case, it focuses on the sisters Shinobu and Kanae Kochou. It is a previous story that relates their beginnings as demon hunters. Gotōge and Yajima are responsible for what can be said to be canon within the series.

So for those who want something extra from the story, other options are available. The same can be said about reading it differently than the manga.
